Less bees in the hive

Hi, I have 12 hives all together. Checked them 2 days ago and found that bee colony in the hive was cut on half. Just a month ago the supper was full of bees and now 1/3 or 1/2 of the bee colony. It happen to at least 7 of the hives. Also I noticed that the brood was left capped. Does any body has problems like that?

Were there any dead bees around the hive? Did you look for queen cells? Queens? Are the bees bringing in pollen? Are they honey bound? Could be swarming. Could be that honeyflow stopped and they reduced population accordingly. Could be a pesticide kill. Were your queens marked? Let us know what you find.
