Supering above top pollen trap
I just got a couple of the Sundance II (top-mount) pollen traps. I run my
hives in two deeps for the brood nest. Could I put the pollen trap on top of two deeps (with bottom entrance closed of course) and then super above the trap? This way their entrance won't move up and down depending on how many supers I have on. Since the queen will be stuck below the trap I would think all the open brood below the trap would keep the pollen moving down through the trap instead of up into the supers. Any thoughts? Thanks, Doug
I don't think it would work, too much of a barrier for the bees to consider it part of "their" hive. Just a guess though.
