I removed a swarm from a tree yesterday and I was told that it had come out of the neighbors chimney. A local handy man removed it with petroleum jelly!:confused:

I queried this and was assured he had just used Vaseline, they weren't sure exactly how, but thought perhaps he had smeared it round the top of the chimney. The theory was that the bees don't like petroleum products.

I've called him and left a message but I wondered whether anyone else has heard of this. At last a panacea!
