Thats where I bought mine last year. I think they were $5.50 per case pints and $6.00 per case quarts. I ended up buying one piece lids elsewhere though...

What do you do, go into your local Big Lots and ask if they can order a pallet for you?

I'm checking with my local store... I've never been there before, but it's not far. Apparently the store manager is who I need to speak with... waiting for him to return. They didn't have any at all in stock atm. I'll see if the manager is amenable to pallet(s) orders and pricing.

Also checked with one of my honey retailers who does have an account with Unified Grocers. They might give it to me at their cost.

Check a store named Fred"s. $6.50 for pints. Don't know the price for quarts. I slip the manager a jar or two of honey and he holds 30 or 40 cases for me each year. I only have to pay when I pick some up. No inventory cost!!

How many are you looking for? We order from the manufacturer, about 9,000 jars at a time.

Six dollars for a case of 12 or six jars? While on the subject. Does Big Lots have 2qt. jars? Or anyone know where these can be purchased?

Is 9k the min order? I'm flexible on my order quantity - depending on the wholesale savings (incl shipping) & required storage space (how many pallets for 9k bottles?) - I could stock up quite a few, even 750 cases perhaps.

Oh yeah - Fred & I go way back...He used to own a Piggly Wiggly. Too bad he's in South Carolina & I'm on the West Coast though. Just kidding! Is "Fred's" a national franchise??

I think the minimum order is $2500. Our last order came to around $2700, including shipping. The number of jars you get for that amount will depend upon the size, style, and the type of closure you get, plus, of course, the shipping to your location.

Our order for 9000 jars (it was actually more like 8760, I think) was delivered on 3 pallets, but I'll tell you, they really stacked those pallets- two of them were over 7 feet tall, and a little shaky when moving on the forklift, as I recall.

If your recollection of the #'s is correct, that comes to about $3.70/cs. For that pricing I can handle some shaky pallets (though I don't want them to break, lol).

PM inbound - hoping you can share contacts.

    Thx,
    Dane

Usually, they have about a pallet load in the store. Also, locally, there are quite a few stores. No doubt in my mind I could score a pallet of each (pint & quart) here in town. They usually start stocking them in July... I think for vegetable canners, etc. They dont have them all year long.

    Dane-

It seems to me that the price worked out to a little over $4 a case- like maybe $4.12 or $4.16. But, I can tell you that they have gone up at least 10% since we last ordered because I got a letter from the manufacturer advising us of the price increase back in January. We haven't ordered since then because we still have some left from our last order. Timing is everything though, because the prices do fluctuate.

Do a google search for "Jarden Home Brands". There should be an email link on their website for ordering. They are using a marketing firm out of Austin, Texas now, so you have to place the order through them, but the link is on Jarden's website. If you can't reach them give me a shout back and I can find the info- but I would have to do a little digging as we are remodeling and nothing around here is organized at the moment!

    dcross,

fillmore containers is waaayyyy more than I would even pay for jars at retail, then you still have to pay for shipping. I don't see any bargain there.

I don't have my price list handy, but I contacted the Kerr/Ball company, and they are willing to sell in $500.00 minimums.
    Hope this helps.
