Freezer space isn't an option for me.
But I have seen wax moth larvae die in the solar wax melter BEFORE the wax starts to melt at 145 degrees.
Before I ran a potentially sticky experiment, I figured I would ask if anyone has ever:
painted a deep box black,
filled it with frames containing wax moths,
put a cover on it,
and left it in the sun for a while?
So long as the temp stays under 140, the comb should be OK. Of course, there's no way of knowing when or if it goes higher than that... or is there?
