I have a couple of new plants in the yard this year that I don't really know.
This one might be purple prairie clover from Wildseed farms, but maybe not. It's everywhere this year.

This one is growing where the hairy vetch is growing. It flowers similar to vetch but much smaller. It forms a seed pod just like vetch. The stem is winged. It climbs with tendrils like vetch.

The first photo: If the stems are square shaped it could be a mint of some kind. A picture in my book looks similar to "Heal-all; Self-heal, Prunella vulgaris. It's widespread; May to Sept. http://www.plants.usda.gov/gallery/l...vu_014_lhp.jpg

I agree that the first one is heal-all based on what I can tell from the photo. The second one looks like caley pea.

The first one looks like a Texas wildflower called Engelmann's salvia.

It grows in my bee zone too. Here's a pic.
