nosema on arrival?
I just installed two packages of bees last Friday. On Saturday I noticed quite a bit of feces around the entrance of both hives. Is this simply cleansing after being cooped up in a package box for several weeks? Or should I treat with Fumigillen when next I refill the frame feeders? I'm planning on taking a peek next Thursday. BTW, I've installed packages before and don't remember this much fecal material on the landing board, but it was drizzling last Friday and has rained steadily since then.
