Im busting to see what my girls are doing!!! I looked this morn and saw very little activity, but it was cool, windy and cloudy. I get home this eve and its rainy, windy and getting dark. I saw a few bees go in each hive but not much going on.
I assume since they are not out and about they are working hard inside, but it sure is quiet inside, ..... GOSH i wish I had a see through window....LOL I think I need to go to Beekers Anon. hehehehe
Oh well, weather has to get nice and warm soon......

I had a similar thing happen to me. The activity in the hive was low and then it started to decrease progressively. In the next few days before I had time to do anything they had all ready left.

Gosh dbs, now you will really have him worrying, lol.

It is not unusual in this type of weather, especially early in the morning and later in the evening, for the bees, especially a small new package, to show little activity outside the colony. They have no brood yet, they have everything they need in house, and it is COLD outside.

TG, I know it is tough but you should give them a little time for the queen to get settled.

yes mam, thats true and I will..... They are very active now, I got off work early enough to watch them do their thing...... They sure are interesting to watch....

It never really gets old.
Glad to hear they are more active now that they have warmed up. I hope they didn't put their winter coats away just yet, though. We have another stretch of winter coming up. <sigh> When will spring get here to stay?
