Default What kind of mesh for veil?

This morning I pulled the veil on my jacket (which I've had for years and liked quite a bit, used very heavily) to get it away from my nose, and the screen tore all across the top. I'm reluctant to dispose of anything I can repair, so i think I'll break out the sewing machine (been sewing my son a bee suit anyway) and stitch new mesh onto the hood. It's one of the "english" type hoods without a hat that were sold on this site (I think the user name was dandelion, he no longer sells them). Anyway, I want to repair/replace the mesh, but I'm not certain of what I should use.

    Any tips?
