    Default Old comb

After cleaning up the hives from some winterkill I have discovered that I have several frames of partially drawn natural comb. I had started frames from strips of foundation and most have filled the entire frame but a few are about one inch short of hitting the bottom bar. My question is, if I reuse these partial frames, will the bees add to the old comb when the need arises, of will they now forever be "short"?

Thanks for all the help this forum and all the contributors have given me in the past.

If you keep the frames in the bottom box, probably not. If you place them in the upper brood chamber, they will add comb and fill in the space eventually.

Whenever they need the space, yes. They will fill all space available when they need it.
