Medium Nucs made with bamboo flooring
In another thread a few days ago, I mentioned how I bought a box of bamboo flooring, just to see what it was like. Then I decided to put it to good use and make nucs from them. Here is a link to a JPEG of the SketchUp plans - Plans.

Presently I am using the remaining twelve pieces to make six more nucs. I am taking photos as I do this, and will post them here when I am finished.

I picked up the box of bamboo flooring at our local COSTCO warehouse store. I'm not sure how many square feet of flooring was in the box, but it is quite a heavy box. These are uniform flooring segments with a tongue on one long and one short edge, and matching grooves on the opposite edges.
Okay, here are some photos of the process:

Hi Joseph,
That's a great idea for using old stock.
I have about 20 pieces of bamboo flooring left over from last year's remodeling. The tongue and groove would be perfect for this project. I'm sure a person could use other types of wood, as well.

Here's a JPEG image of a newly revised and colored plan: Bamboo Sided Nuc - colored

These plans have been tweaked, first by adding color and the detail of the tongue upper edge of the bamboo sides, second by the addition of dadoes across the ends, where bamboo scraps (trimmed from the bottom edges) have been glued into the dadoes for hand holds.
