Default Wood right out of the oven and then stained/painted

    http://www.solventfreepaint.com/pine-tar.htm

I was going to use this for my modified vertical TBS, made from Sassafrss, but had question about using it. This Pine Tar sinks into the wood better when warm/hot. Now I do not have the means to set up a hot dip tank but I do have an oven. Can the wood be warmed, in the oven, then have the pine tar coated over it? Will the warmed wood allow for the tar to sink deeper into the wood?

    thx

Depending on the humidity of the wood, the dry heat of the oven will warp it.

I've heated linseed oil mixtures for deeper penetration (of earthen floors not wood). I imagine you could heat the product then apply it. You can use a propane stove like this one http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...70_16460_16460 and a cheap stock pot.

The key thing when heating flamable materials is to do it outdoors, with a charged extinguisher, and don't heat it too hot or too fast!
