on the page where Mann Lake sells the PF-120 frames

they also sell a PF-125 which is black (easier to see eggs)
has anybody tried these?
are the cells the same size?

I already purchased over 300 pieces of PF-120 last year. Then I realized they had a black version. I too feel that the black plastic can help my old eyes to see the eggs. Since I already have enough PF-120s for now, I just ordered four pieces of the black PF-125's to see how they do. I hope they are the same size cell base. I should know soon.

I also thought at one point there was some discussion of there being a newer version of that frame, with a different cell size. And that people were asking for the "original" were older version specifically in order to get the 4.95 mm cell size. Is this true? Or is it equivalent to order any of the four frames on that page and get the smaller cells?

Last time I bought some it was. If anyone has any more recent info, it would be good to know.

I contacted Mann lake, and Troy got back to me with lightning speed and here is the deal "All the PF-100, 105, 120, 125's are all the 4.9 cell size"

You can have all those black frames you want, I ordered a case two years ago and still have some the bees refuse to draw out.Yes it does make it easy to see eggs but if they don't use them they don't do me any good.
Yes I use all plastic frames , white , green , and a case of black..40 hives.
Good luck and hope they work out for you.
If you build it they will comb it.<br />Tim Rolan
