Pocket Screws for Boxes?

Anyone use pocket screws for assembling boxes? I made a couple mediums last year that turned out really nicely. I used glue before screwing them together and used three screws on each joint.

How well do you think they'll hold up?

Also, I was wondering what the bees will do with the pockets over time.

That should work just fine. I might use more screws if they are deeps. The bees will likely propolize over the screw heads.

I figure I'd use four screws per joint for deeps.

Since I didn't buy the jig or the screws (brother-in-law donation) I haven't figured the cost versus the price of a new dado blade. Might be interesting to look at over time. Probably more expensive in the long run.
