    Default Ebay Alternatives

In light of the recent uproar there are a couple alternatives that
are getting a head of steam.

I am going to register with both and list a couple things to see
    what happens.

Although I have no major complaints with ebay, everyone wants
lower fees. Competition is always a "good thing".

Ol' ebay is a tough nut to crack though..........

I am a long time member of GunBroker........ bought 3 shotguns off
    there two years ago.

When I first joined ebay (1997) you were able to sell guns at that
time. Sold an old Remington 1100 for a darn good price to a guy
    in Las Vegas.

I like GunBroker. It is an easy to use site, with lots of decent deals.

There were discussions on different financial mags and talking head TV shows.

My biggest complaint is the phishing e-mails from copycats who use the e-bay logo. I get e-mails of various sorts asking me for my password as I try and reply. The phishing comes through my regular e-mail.

I've learned to only reply to messages in my e-bay mailbox after logging onto my e-bay account, and answer only those messages that come through my e-bay account.

thanks for the update sheri... gosh I am just so out of it here... no tv and no paper so sadly I have to rely on a bunch of beekeepers to keep me current...

in the highlighted thread presented by sheri... sheri says (well at lesast I suspect it was sheri)...

'I will be closing my store for the strike....very disappointed in those Ebay corporate morons. It seems if something is working well they have to go in and fiddle with it.'

    and my response:
sadly when you pay someone a six figure salary plus bonuses which adds another zero (zero doesn't mean anything does it?) to the figure... they typically think they need to do something and in a great number of occasions never consider whether the change will be good or bad. for myself if I ever did come to that point where I could and did pay someone that kind of money I would DEMAND they get decisions right about 90% of the time. I mean why pay (and the why is not so difficult either) someone that much money who seems to get all the decisions wrong.

Your right, tecumsah. Remember "New" Coke? Sometimes I wonder if some stock holders are shouting, "Don't just stand there (while it's working), DO SOMETHING (even if it's dumb and destructive to business)."
