I have been testing =neem oil for mite control= so far looks good bees build up nice no bad effects.
I have been useing 1oz. neem oil to 16 oz. mineral oil.,soaked card board strips in 1 inch strips 5 inches long placed over brood nest.
I have also been spraying a paper towel over brood every 2 weeks.
of 20 hives selected for test none lost/made 1 super of honey each

Sounds like this may have potential. I have a question.

Did any of the 20 colonies in the test have mites prior to the start of the neem oil treatment?

If not, it would be interesting to see how effective the treatment is on colonies that already have heavy mite infestations.

Have you done any sticky board tests before, during, & / or after?
I'm happy that your bees look good and that you pulled a crop.
Good signs!
But measuring the daily natural drop and the 1st 24 hr chemical drop will give you a lot of information about your experimental treatment.
Also, where did you come up with your recipe?
By taking mite drop measurements you should be able to adjust the ratio up or down and dial it right in.
What is the product name of the NEEM?

I had low mite counts as I fog and use small cell wax.so if that helps.I also do organic treatments classes here once a month so mites are had to find.

I have tried lot of oils on mites. I got the neem off the internet/called Dyna-Gro pure neem from India
work up amounts of neem to you get a good fall I started very low as no one was useing it for mite control.
It cost about 40.00 per qt. shipped to your house.

What percentage Neem Oil are you starting with. I have some for my garden that lists the active ingredients as 70% Neem and 30% inert. So is yours 100% to start with or.............??
