HSC cutdown for mini-mating nucs

Has anyone use cut down peices of HSC for foundation for their mini-mating nucs?

I would seem to be an easy way to get the odd sizes of drawn comb without a large commitment effort for the bees.

I think the problem you'll find is the bees are kinda slow to accept it
maybe if you used it in a regular hive until it was accepted and had wax all over it the acceptance would be better, but then it might be hard to glue into frames because of the wax
