Bee carcasses in brood frames
I just looked at my pollen trap and noticed white, not fully developed carcasses in the trap area.
I opened the hive and noticed about 10 or so cells each on several frames that have dead bees in them. They are white and wet, and when I poked one with a pine needle a white liquid oozed out. The bodies have the consistency of the creepy crawlers we made as kids before the gel set completely.
The weather has been uncommonly mild here for the last few months in Pilot Hill , CA in the foothills of California 30 miles east of Sacramento. The last few days however have been in the 100's
I had to re-queen in June as there was no queen for unknown reasons.
Is this chalk brood? How do I treat? Any ideas.
