Years ago there was a gas treatment for AFB infected comb. As I understand it the combs were put into a chamber and a gas was used to clean it of AFB spores. Does anyone remember what that gas was and why it is not in use today? Thank You Rick

They do still use it. It's Ethylene-oxide. Some states have chambers and some don't.

Hummm...
What's the flip side... why is it not used in all states?
To everything there is a season....
It is expensive. The chambers cost money, qualified technician to run it costs money. Then you have a low demand for it.
Thanks Micheal... My brother in law was telling about it and how much the bees loved the comb that was cleaned with it but couldnt remember what it was ...Rick
