Ok, my bees only put up ONE medium super of sourwood honey. THE BEST there is around here and in high demand... but I left it all for them.
When should I start feeding them so they can make it through the winter?
Or should I not?
What would you do?

When your ship comes in, make sure you are willing to unload it.
I like to start feeding in September into October but that is only for my area. I start with 2:1.
I like my bees, because more than 90% of the time they feed themselves and even produce some that I can steal from them.

When to feed or if to feed at all is going to depend on your hives and local conditions.
When is the fall flow?
When does the fall flow end?
What is the hive configuration? How much do they have stored?
What is required to winter where you are?
How is the population and brood rearing at this time?
Do you need to help boost the population to get ready for winter?
These are just some of the factors that will affect feeding.
