    Default homemade thymol varroacide

i remember reading an article in the ABJ a few years back about a Florida based beekeeper who soaking thymol that had been dissolved in vegetable shortening into coasters. Does anybody remember that particular article? Or perhaps somebody would like to share their favorite thymol based homebrew.

These are the folks who had the thymol coaster recipe. They have changed the recipe to a crisco/powdered sugar/active ingredient mix.

I wonder what the bee inspectors ( another active thread) would say about the use of the home recipes. That is would it keep you from getting a clean bill-of-health certificate?
