    Default Day late part II

I had the 2nd swarm that landed in a dogwood. I put them in a hive body with drawn comb and they left after about an hour. They pitched in a bush in my wife's garden,so I collected them in another box of drawn comb wit6h a feeder on top and they seemed good the rest of Monday evening through Tuesday morning. Tuesday evening about dark, I went out to shut them up and move them back to the bee yard and they were gone. I guess they didn't like the new digs. I should have given them a frame of brood.

also, you might try placing a queen excluder between the brood box and the bottom board ( kinda as a queen includer )

Along with the above, I always remove a swarm from the area I catch it, in order to keep the scouts from finding it when they return.

Queen excluder works fine, when it's not a virgin queen in the swarm. Brood would have held them better.

Just a note to say that Davy Crockett had a fellow contemporary/acquaintance who was known as the "bee-hunter"; just read about that briefly.

THANKS that is logic at its best , no scouts stay put.
