    RAINING!
I got the swarm call and thought what are they thinking?
Anyway, I hope I got wetter than they did.

One of my backyard hives swarmed and I walked by as they were taking flight. Managed to quickly bait shrubs and tree limb where they were buzzing about with Bee Charm gel (wish I could find some more of that!). They landed on a tree trunk about 2 feet off the ground. I was watching them gather and putting a hive together while they clustered and settled. While I had my back turned they flew 25' up into the crown of the tree. This was within 40 minutes of the beginning of the swarm. I managed to retrieve them with the help of some of my beekeeping friends, an extension ladder and a swarm catching bucket on a long PVC extension!

Warm and sunny weekend. Bee's went down a vent pipe after the home owner smoked them off a pole. Still not sure why he smoked them???

Warm day in the mid 70s with rain early and a mix of clouds and sun in the afternoon.
Watched one of my (3) hives send out a swarm at about 11:30 AM...which then landed at the highest point in my entire yard
Top of an old oak tree about 40'-50' up...couldn't get them, they flew away and found a new home.

4/18/15 - found a swarm presumably from 1 of our 3 hives about 25' from existing hives in a cedar tree. A nice large swarm we were able to put in a box fairly easily. Weather was thunderstorm overnight before and into late morning. Skies had cleared by noon and we found this at about 5:30-ish.

Large swarm of unknown origin landed on hemlock tree trunk. Brushed into a box and hived with an entrance excluder. Bees were still unsettled today. I think they would leave if not for the excluder.

Another of my hives swarmed to almost the exact same spot 40-50' high in the trees.

No way I can get them out, can only hope they might come down lower for more shelter in the current rainstorm.

I've had a lucky week. On 7 April 15, I got a swarm call at 9:00. It was a cool overcast morning, (this is Portland) The Bees were hanging from a branch about six feet from the ground in a tree on the patio of a credit union in downtown Portland. I cut the branch and dropped the bundle into my bucket. From getting out of my truck to getting back in was 15 min. Later that afternoon I got a second call. That was more work, it was on the back of a little trailer. On the 17th I got a call about a swarm in a bush in a middle school parking lot in Tigard, OR. I shook them into my bucket and waited until the flyers joined the rest.

I got three after swarms from the same bradford pear tree an old neighbor has. They have a hive in the eave of their home that has had a hive in it for 3-4 years.
All three swarms had virgins queens that I separated out and put in mating nucs and used some excess swarm bees in a starter.

No idea where the swarm originated. Buddy answered a call from his grandfather and went to gather it up.

Collected close to five pound swarm out of a lilac yezterday. Two weeks plus early. I actually got stung a few times. That is very rare here unless you pinch them. Dark bees but we really have no feral population

Collected yesterday in Jefferson City, MO an early issue swarm from one of my hives outside office. I was giving a tour to some 3rd and 4th year Missouri University vet students so got them to walk in and with swarm as it decided between a wild rose or American Holly to land in. Swarm chose the latter. Swarm was relatively large at about 5 lbs.
