I caught my first swarm this season in North Florida on March 28. Caught three more since about a week apart. Weather was warm and sunny on all occasions.

Caught yet another swarm yesterday (4/28/12) from my own TBH that I started on March 13. This is the third (maybe 4th) swarm from it in the past 10 days. I happened to be out checking on my hives when it swarmed this time, so I watched it take off and land in a lilac bush about 5 feet from the hive, maybe 4 feet off the ground. I shook it into a Lang box that had been in a tree in the front yard where I was attempting to use it as a bait hive.

Got a call and picked up a nice swarm last night. I can't say I remember swarms this early in the year in my part of Wisconsin.

Hived a swarm from my apiary around 4:00 PM 4/30/2012. I was working in the garden and heard a lot of buzzing and just thought it was the bee taking orientation flights. Took a walk to check on them and found a swarm on a bush touching the ground. Easy capture.

Swarm caught about 3# pounds placed inside foundationless nuc box. Waiting till night to move them to a more permenant location. Tryed the white sheet method but must not have got the queed because the flew over to another hive. Got the other cluster that was on the box I tried to put them in originaly. Sprayed them with sugar water and shook them into the Nuc box. Put the cover on and left it cracked open. Everybody slowly moved. Must have got the queen then. Hope they stay.

Caught a 4-5lb swarm tonight. 65 deg and mostly cloudy. Most likely came from the oak tree 10 feet from the swarm. The owner said they have been in the tree for 3 years. Brighton, Wi 53168

I watched one of my hives swarm today, I followed the cloud of bees they landed in a fruit tree North North East 100 ft. and about 20 ft. up from the origional Hive. I captured it in a Nuc box with a few drops of lemon grass oil and used a scoop (dust pan) I made from and old antifreese plastic jug and duct taped to a broom handle . I only had a 15 ft ladder and the box was about 3 ft. below the swarm, I scooped as many bees that I could and poured them into the nuc box all the stragglers made there way to the nuc box by about 8:00 pm . Then I put the lid on and removed it from the tree.......YaHoo.....
