The Dalles, OR - #7 or so, 15' up in a pine tree - stayed put for almost three days, probably due to drizzle and rain! Bucket on a pruning pole - the ol' bump-n-dump!

Another 4 pounder in The Dalles Oregon. Had started to move in on an old hive in a shed wall, so I did an impromptu cut-out to grab most of the bees. Homeowner wanted the honey from the old hive - looked pretty gross, so I gave him a strong caution and went on my way with a nice big swarm!

Caught one swarm today from one of my own hives. It was huge at about 5lbs and around 15 ft in an alder tree 25 yards from the "home" hive.

Second swarm in a month, outside of a shed in The Dalles, Oregon. Old hive inside the shed wall keeps drawing them in! So taken two in Camas, Washington in the last couple weeks, as well as started a local trapout today!

Caught a swarm today. Temperature was in the high 60's after some drizzly days last week. Estimated size was about 5-6 lbs.

Clark/Skamania County, SW Washington - I've picked up six in the last few weeks, passed on one in Wasco Co., Oregon last night. Went to set up a trap out this morning, found a basketball sized swarm up in a tree!

Western Washington State, crazy early for swarms here.

If it's not wild, it's a domestic overwintered queen.

It wouldn't be from a new package or nuc..local folks just got them in 2 weeks ago.

    Collected them near Yelm, Wa.

Cooperated nicely and took up some fortified 1:1 ovenight.

Collection box has screened bottom and inner cover for good ventillation during transport and confinement.

My first swarm call ever. 8' up in an apple tree, 5 miles from the house. Sounds like the perfect scenario to cut my teeth.

Sorry dude, didn't purposefully ignore you, been away to the beach for some razor clam digging. I did not get them, unfortunately there was nothing left to get. There were a dozen or so drones and about the same number of workers wandering around a branch. I'm guessing there was a small swarm there a day or few earlier that left some lingering queen pheromone on the branch.

Caught two swarms yesterday. 6/5 in Camas WA, one 3ft off the ground at a private home, and a 15ft swarm near a elementary school.
Both swarms were the size of a football each.

From the research I've done, for Western Washington, it appears that swarm season is Mid April - Mid June.
