I had two swarm calls yesterday. One was gone by the time I got to it, the other took up residence in the wall of a house. I had to pass because I didn't want to do the carpentry involved. I'm in south central Ohio about halfway between Columbus and Cincy.

Trying to do swarm control, but have found capped queen cells, so they would swarm in about 7 days. Mid West Colorado.

Out of twelve, two decided to abscond today. Bugga. The other 10 are going strong though. Hope they keep going strong. I guess your bound to lose some. Just try and try again.

Yes. The commercial guy has his hives in the sagebrush about 100 yards off the farm ground. I just park on the road and walk through the brush and find them.

    "Heeezzzzzz here...."

That's what they must have said -- I showed up at a house to scope a soffit trapout and as I was speaking to the folks, the colony swarmed. I quickly put a dab of LGO on a small branch and within seconds, they formed a cluster 2-3 feet away and higher. Don't know whether that's a coinsidence or not but I did not care. Went home, got my gear and now, all the girls are in a deep -- they almost filled it! (Waiting for all the scouts and stragglers to come home, I will go back and get them in the dark tonight.)

May 12th, mothers day swarm @ 81212. Landed in a sage brush 20' from the parent hive. Secondary swarm from same parent hive on May 14th. Captured the first, couldn't locate the second.

Thumbs Up Re: Please Post your Swarm Dates?

Amazing... got home from hiving one swarm and just settling down and got a call from 4 miles away for a 4-pounder 6' off the ground in a bushy little fir tree. Into the catcher box and back home in an hour. Into a hive tomorrow after I set up some frames.

Observation hive swarmed at 15:45. Not happy and friendly either! Put my veil on and went to get some footage and took a dart to each arm. I will hive them later after they settle down. In full protection too LAWL!

03226 - (Center Harbor, NH) First swarm of the season mid-day today, regrettably outbound. They laughed at my lemon-scented swarm traps as they headed for the hills.

My first swarm ever: today 5/19/2013. Oldham County, KY 40077. Had a swarm trap in the crook of a tree and they moved in today. I have no idea if they came from my own hives or not. I'm happy!!
