Hays, Ks. Thursday, April 24. I even got to witness them gathering onto a branch- what a spectacular site. It took maybe no more than 10 minutes for the entire swarm to cluster together.

My number 1 hive swarmed today. Landed 8 feet up in a tree on my property, so I sprayed them with syrup, brushed them into a 5 gal. pail and dumped them onto comb and honey. Hope I didn't crush the queen when I closed up the hive, but bees went in for dark. Estimate 5 to 6 pounds of bees (Visually, bout twice the size of a three pound package)

    Default Swarm

First swarm this season today 6/6 from one of my hives. I inherited it and it has no frames so I let it bee. It swarmed about this time last year. The weather has been sunny and warm here 66850.

Two calls today, caught one. The one I caught is from a bee tree I've been watching. The other swarm returned to their hive in a soffit, and I imagine they will swarm again tomorrow (I hope).

4 last week around the Kansas City area 64103, 1 from a managed colony the other 3 were tree bees. 1 of which was **** grouchy when I inadvertently (while standing on my tip toes) dropped them on my own head.

Grabbed two today around 3pm here in the Wichita, KS area. Such a beautiful day, and very gentle and cooperative swarm grabs. Reminds me why I keep bees. God is good!
