Maybe the bees are starting to break loose now in MO! I had two swarm calls in two days 6/14 and 6/15 both on Ft. Leonard Wood. One was small and I believe to be queenless (guys got me a bucket truck for it! Easy!) and yesterdays was a good 3-4 pounds of bees in an ornamental tree in a parking lot eye level...couldn't be easier! I even had a nice bench to sit on while waiting for the stragglers to get in.

I've caught and hived three swarms in town this week. Two in trees 50' from each other on our court house lawn and one on the ground in a yard three blocks away.

Kinda hard to see, It was done by flashlite right as a thunderstorm hit. It was a big one though!! That blue hose it a 1.5" pool vaccum hose that I use on my Bee-Vac. We got them in the hive before the really heavy rain started.

Had a very small swarm on the ground today about three foot in front of one of my hives. I wasn't even sure it was a swarm until I sifted through it and found the queen. I gave em a frame of honey, pollen and some nurse bees from the hive I think they came from in a nuc but as swarms go it was the most pathetic attempt I have ever seen. I would say it was about the size of a small salad plate on the ground maybe three layers of bees thick.

Was 80 degrees today and sunny. Middle Missouri location

around 6 pm we were working out by the garage and a swarm flew over. We saw it for about 10 sec. and it was gone. We have traps all over but they must not of liked them. It was a feral swarm as we don't have any yet. I pick up our first nuc tomorrow. We looked for about an hour but when you live in the woods that's how it goes.

Obese-Wan, if it's not normal for bees to swarm this time of year in your area, you should get in that hive to see if some critter drove them out. That's awful. I feel for you.

First swarm call ever. In Springfield Mo. I was not ready, so I had to go borrow a new supper from a friend and drive 1/2 hr to receive another call just as we locate the street that they took off. No sign other than a few stragglers clinging to the tree. (Mostly drones.)
I will be loading the cars in the morning.

Caught first swarm here in NW Missouri 6/8. Late spring didn't have any of my hives start superseding until now. Weird year

I just was told of a swarm tonight in northeast Missouri. It's low in a tree and I will get it before the sun comes up in the morning. I don't have a good idea about estimating the amount of bees, but it looks like a good size to me. zip, 63501
