First call of the season in Portland, Oregon 97202. Likely 4-5lbs, hanging nicely about 5 feet up from the branch of a cedar tree. I hope they are all this easy this year!

@enchplant- Another great video. I commend you for how you educate the public and was surprised they were actually brave enough to touch the bees. You do great work.

It's on!!!!! One of my hives swarmed today and landed on a fence about 20' from the hive. 19320 Pretty nice size. Found the queen, put her in the nuc. . . They wouldn't all go in a 5 frame nuc, but did once I put a second on top. WOO HOO!!!

    Sorry I didn't give times / teps. About 1:30 and it's 70 degrees today.

Second swarm of the year in my outyard at about 3:00 pm. Queen couldn't fly and the 2# swarm ended up at the base of a chain-link fence post behind the hive. Would have been fairly easy had half the swarm and the queen not been under a piece of mine conveyor belt that is under the hives. First swarm that I've captured while laying on my side...better than 20 feet up a tree though! Finally found the queen and installed her in a 5-frame nuc with the swarm. Made up 7 splits from this yard on 4/14/12...hope I am ahead of them for a change.

Soccer ball sized swarm from one of my hives today. My wife captured it (her first!) and it replaces the one colony we lost this "winter"
