I got two swarms on 6-6 and a good size swarm yesterday. I heard the queen pipng in the hive the night before so I was watching out for the swarm issuance!

A late good one 6/15 -95030. This was from a bait swarm I caught on 3/11, it had partially filled a deep, partially filled half a medium honey super, had an empty above that. Only had two queen cells. Now there's a crummy strain of bees if you ask me. Two gardeners who had never worked bees caught it from a 15' high tree limb into a cardboard box following my instructions over the phone. Let's hear if for the Bob and Salvo, the heroic bee luvin' gardeners of Monte Sereno.
Lesson learned,
Tuesday, 6-12, went and took down an owl house a gentleman had built and placed about 15' in a tree, he said the bees had been there about a week. Gently took it down and put it in the back of my truck, was going to take them out Wed. When I opened it up the next day, i found that the comb had fallen crushing many of the bees. I couldn't find the queen, but I gave them a frame of brood, and will check them next week. If I can't find eggs, I'll pull the queen cells and combine them with a weaker colony.

4 bait hives caught swarms this week. Also had a swarm come to another but left. The plywood top had warped and I think to much light was let in. First time that has happened to me.

Swarm on April 15th. Liberty Hill, Texas 78642. This was from one of my hives.
3 swarms on April 21st. Liberty Hill, Texas 78642. These were from my hives. Evidently I'm sufffering from the opposite of CCD - Would that be Colony Expand Disorder? I managed to hive two of these three.
95684-probably my hive. weighed in at 1 3/4 pounds.

my bees swarmed today: June 22 Willington Ct. Weather was mid 70's sunny with passing showers.
my bees swarmed today and i think i caught them.june 22nd western montana.its been in the hi 80's lower 90's.really dry for this time of year.another bad fire season?
My only swarm this year so far was on 05/19, I had an old hive out and they went right to it.
95667- question whether the swarm was my bees. very dark queen and bees and hive inspections didn't show any queens missing. 6/22 swarm may not of been mine either.

I'm disgusted. Checkerboarded on 2/28. Caught someone else's swarm on 3/27. Checkerboarded again on 4/2. 2 swarms issued on 4/21. hived them. 5/29 another swarm. Hived them, but they left. 6/1 checkerboarded again.
6/8, 6/12, 6/19, 6/21, 6/24 and today, 6/28 all swarms which either settled 50' up or flew into the woods. Nine bloody swarms this year! Checkerboarding has always worked for me in the past--I've had only one swarm in the past three years and that was the one I hadn't checkerboarded. It wouldn't be so bad if I had been able to retrieve them and I wouldn't mind if I thought they'd make it on their own. But between the county mosquito spray truck and the people around here who just love their insecticides. . .Breaks my heart.
Swarm call 7:45 last night 6/27 got the swarm this morning 6/28 about 8 am cloudy and started to rain about 2 minutes after I finally got them boxed and loaded up. . .

Nice big (I think)swarm! They came from a tree about 10 yards from where they swarmed at. Still several in/out of the tree so hopefully we'll get another swarm from them next year (nice cause it's in my in-laws yard) this is the 3rd year they've had a swarm there but this is the first year we've been bee farming. . .
Here's a Linkto the pics if interested.

Four swarm calls this year- Central Kansas. May 7, May 11, May 28, June 10. Had one in between the middle May dates that I missed- they had already left before my arrival. I'd call them all 'average' in size. They all seem to be doing well after being hived.
Swarm call from local new beekeeper 10:15 am (swarm from nuc installed approx 5/25/07). 10:45 am when I arrived swarm had moved to unknown location.
