Received a call on a swarm June 2. The bees had quickly moved in to the underside of a 2nd story deck. Size of a basketball.

May 4, 2008. Large swarm from fellow neighbor keeper. We watched it fly away and come back. It left for good 2 days later.

Captured three smaller swarms, very likely "cast swarms" and the main had taken place earlier. Also thought to be from feral colonies.

My hive swarmed september 15th. Did all I could to entice them into a new hive, but they wouldn't listen. Too high up to retrieve. I'm hoping the queen took all the mean bees with her and left the docile ones for me.

I caught my first swarm yesterday. It was about 80 degrees and sunny but the wind blew in as I was finishing and we got a wicked lighting storm. This was north of Logan, UT.

I was called about a swarm on 4-18-14, two on 4-19-14, which other beekeepers got. I captured one on 4-21-14 in the Salt Lake City area. What will you do with this info?

A large swarm landed in my neighbor's backyard. Unfortunately, he didn't get home until late, and they were gone by then.

Swarm moved into a hole in my porch column, yesterday (5/21). Going to have to do a trap out. Pretty sure they are from my own hive. zip 84321

    What is needed:

    • zip code, city or county
    • date when the bees swarmed or when you found the swarm.
    • comments - example: if the swarm came from your hive, or if you were called to pick up a swarm, how long was it there. This is not for cutouts unless the bees just took up residence and are not established. It would also be great to include a small photo of the swarm.

This forum is not for general discussion.
    Regards, Barry

High 60's Sunny at the moment. rained day before and that night. This was from a split of Carni's a friend gave me that apparently felt too crowded in the Nuc they came in. My wife watched them swarm and called my son home from work to get them in a box.

1 to 2 pound swarm. very small.

Work mate called to say a Facebook friend just posted that a swarm was on their lawn. We made contact with the home owner and rushed out just before dusk. The bees had been there for 12 hours or more, she said. We did escort the queen into the box.
