Who has the best prices overall when you figure in the shipping costs.
I need to get some medium supers(unassembled) and am trying to see if I
should use one of the big bee companies or go local to the CO-OP or
something.

Make your own with a simple butt/ rabbit joint. I wasted alot of wood trying to make finger joints with only a table saw. Frames, you cant come out ahead, making your own, at least I couldnt.
The cheapest I have found if your going to buy 10 or more is here, where they are like $7.10 for the commercial ones. I bought lumber from lowes 12 feet of 1"x8" (#2) for about $9.30 thats enough for two medium supers, not counting glue any hardware. It will depend on your shipping what would be the best option. These are my observations on this, hope it helps.
From East Tennessee I would look at Miller's. I like their personal service as well as the prices. They are in Western North Carolina so shipping should be pretty good.
From where you are, I'd look at Miller. I bought all my recent ones from Miller and I'm a lot further than you. The quality is good. The people are nice. The price is fair. For where you are the shipping should be reasonable.
I bought my last hive from Rossman Apiaries. The hives are made of cypress they are very good quality and I think were actually cheaper than the pine one's I had bought. So if they last longer too should end up to be a really good deal. http://www.gabees.com/

Unless you are buying in bulk ie.. 50-100 boxes at a time, and can go pick them up yourself. Then usually your best price comes from the nearest place, because of the shipping costs. If you have 2-3 places near by then comparison shopping may help.
Good idea but co-op prices are $14 plus tax for 1 medium . Maybe I'll pick some up from Larry soon.
