    Default ob hive vents

    ok I have built a 8 fram op hive but I need some vent to place in it. I would like to find a screened vent that is about 1" round and perfered in brass has any one seen such a vent? or some thing close

    the sec link is like what I have been looking for but they sent be back a quote of $85 + shipping I have to order 100 of them at a time. If I cant find some thing else I will order them I guess and build some ob hive and sell the lol

    A saw cut will do. It will be 1/8" and the bees can't get through it and it will let air in. That's what the vent in my Draper is.

    We just built an OB hive using the plans from http://www.honeyrunapiaries.com/beekeeping_plans.phtml. The vents are 7/8" holes drilled in the sides with 1/8" hardware cloth stapled on the inside.

    Buy some of the aluminum ones and spray paint them gold. If you talk really nice and beg and plead, Steve Forrest at Brushy Mt. may take pity on you and sell you a few vents. Or not.

    Go to your building supply yard and look at the soffit and louver vents, you might find that they will work well for what you want. Like this one on my bee vac only witout the tape.
