Will this feature be enabled or have I missed it?

I'm inclined not to. Personally, I hate avatars. But a member can always set their own controls to not show them, so . . . we'll see. Not a priority at the moment.

Thought I'd bring this up again. Wondering what the members feel about this? I'm on the fence and lean towards not having them, but could be pushed to the other side.

One of the benefits of not having avatars is that no bandwidth is wasted by downloading the avatar.

Instead of wasting bandwidth on avatars that contain no useful information, why not use that same bandwidth to allow somewhat larger actual photos (in those posts that contain photos).

This is perhaps the only forum I have been a member of where they aren't displayed below the name. In a way it is nice because everyone's unique picture can make reading the forum a little simpler because you get to know the regular's avatars. But then someone changes there and blows your mind's system out of the water.

I think it's OK the way it is. Plus not throwing a bunch of cluttery pictures up on the thread. That's a plus as well, I believe. Some others are unreadable because they also allow pics or even animated gifs in signatures. No thanks.

I would certainly have limitations on the images. No animated avatars.

In general I don't find them useful to me. I'm more textual than visual and I'm always getting confused by images like what an icon is supposed to represent. Much prefer a word. Same for a forum user. That's just me.

I'm not a fan of them. I'm easily distracted and the avatars are just

I don't see any advantage. Wait, might be interesting to see what Acebird would have.
