I'm pretty sure the only avatars that you see all belong to moderators. See this thread for more ...

At the moment, I just enabled avatars for moderators, for testing purposes. I'm leaning towards making them available to everyone. This will give me an understanding in how best to set up the parameters and managing them.

Oh my. I have to wonder how a discussion on this could possibly be "serious"!!!

I don't want to be the stick in the mud but
    I find them distracting.
I hope they are not adopted.

I believe the problem is that the wood behind you is close in color to your hair so the outline of your head is not defined and blends into the wood color. A little PS will fix that. I sent you the file.

Go to top of screen and click on "Private Messages".

Scroll down to "My Settings" and click on "General Settings".

Scroll down to "Thread Display Options" and check-mark "Show Avatars" then go to the bottom of the page and click "Save Changes". (this will activate the Avatar function)

Now go to the left side of your screen and click on "Edit Avatar", and bingo you are there ready to add your picture and again click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.
