the handles were made from extra top-bar materials. waste not want not
All the exterior wood was painted with a clear stain, and the top was given a few coats of spraypaint. all the wood used is 1 inch thick, for better insulation of the hive.
the handles are acually meant to be frame holers, but they to make the hive look kinda like a wheelbarrow type thing. i doubt whether the handles would hold the weight though... i don't think i'll find out! it does take two people to move, but so do my lang hives unless i move them box by box.
