All things being equal other than the cell size(or should I say size of the bees), is there any honey production difference between todays normal size bees and regressed(4.9) bees per hive?

I haven't had small bees long enough to say and I'm still stressing them out swapping out large comb for small, but I have heard of recent studies that small bees are more productive.
