Does anyone know where I can get some miter gears for extractors ? I would like to make a bigger one and can't seem to find big enough gears for it.

Old ice cream maker?
Right-angle gear box from lawn mower deck?
Rear-end from a Mini-van?
How BIG do you need?
There used to be a company in Minnesota called Martin gear Co. Other wise go to a power transmission supply house ( sell gears ,bearing pumps, speed reducers. sprockets ect. ) They should be able to help.
I have a two frame extractor and would like to build maybe a 9/18 or whatever I come up with. I work in a steel fab shop and can build just about anything.

Used lower units from outboard motors would
make for excellent gears IMO. Especially one
with a damaged skeg (for saving $$)
I found a local place that can get the gears for me. They can also get motors with gear reducers on them and the whole works !! I'm kind of excited to see what they cost.

I've got an Mann-Lake 18 frame radial that I need a sat of hand crank gears for. Please let us know what you find out for cost.
