I may ask Santa Clause to bring me a digital camera. I would like to take some up close and personal pictures of the girls. Does anyone have a digital camera that they like and can do this? Post some pictures for us to see to.

Yes, I have been very good.

    Hello,

We use a olympus Camedia c-3000 and love it.

It is 3.3 Miga pix with 3X zoom and a 2.5 digital Zoom.

    Thank you.

I ended up with a Canon PowerShot A300 3.2 mega pixels and I'm very happy with it.

I like the cannon's myself. I don't remember the model number off hand, but it looks identical to the A85. Good quality pictures, nice features and takes nice closeups.

Most, but not all of the pictures here were taken with this camera.

Tarheit- Nice website! I wish I could convince my wife on the observation hive. I will show her your pictures. Looks simple enough to build. Nice feeder design.

Thanks tzeiner5773. The wife didn't exactly give permission. At first is was "I'll think about it.". Then when she saw me building it her tune became "Ok, but it's not going in the bedroom". Long story short, due to renovations, our bedroom moved to the room where the observation hive is. Now she complains when the hive is moved to the county fair for display that she can't sleep without the hum

It's not difficult to build. You really could do it with a drill, table saw and a few hand tools. I hope to have plans up on my website in the next couple of weeks (I'm way behind on that task.)

Santa already said No to my asked for gift. All I asked for was 100 medium frames so I would not have to spend the hours sawing them out.

I ended up getting a Nikon Coolpix 5400. It is a 5 mega pixel, with manual and point and shoot mode. The macro mode is down to .4” and this is the feature that I really was after. I also purchased a 2 GB memory card for it. I will never run out of memory while taking pictures. The down side is the LCD viewer is not as sharp as some of the newer Coolpix cameras and the new models have a faster processor.
