    Question

To those of you who are using long, L-shaped, or the "super" hive: How well do your bees move the brood nest horizontally? M. Bush, you have a long or L-shaped hive, do you move the brood to one end before winter so it migrates a certain direction (as in rotating the brood boxes)? Or do you all just let the bees do as they will?

I just let them do what they want. They have done fine so far. Last winter was kind of mild until about February and we had several weeks of -20 F at night and not above -10 in the day and they did fine. That was a three box long (48 3/4") medium depth hive.
