Screened bottoms for bee pallets

I am wondering if there are any commercial/migratory beekeepers out there who are using screened bottoms on their bee pallets. I am considering doing this to some pallets this Fall/Winter but really wonder if it is worth the effort. Also very concerned about how big to make the opening without compromising the strength of the pallet. Any thoughts/comments/suggestions?
