I was thinking of using the liquid smoke that Mann Lake sells for use on my hive in town. Has anyone used it and what were your results?

I've used it and wasn't impressed. I prefer real smoke. I don't care for the smell much. The nice thing about the liquid is the "smoker" doesn't go out.

A small sprayer with plain water or sugar
water would be much cheaper, and have
about the same effect as "liquid smoke".
We use the "Misto" sprayers that one can
find in kitchen shops for about $8.00
( http://www.misto.com/ ) for all sorts of
things. You pressurize them by pumping
them up in advance, and then can mist
away with short bursts without the
fumbling about with a trigger sprayer
or pump sprayer. Very handy for crowd
control when doing something that you
know will likely start a ruckus. I've
never had one break, and we've done
everything to them but run them over
with a car.
While you are at it, buy two for the
kitchen. One for olive oil, and one
for veggie oil. We use them almost
daily.
have to say i'm not impressed either. It had a strainer thing at the bottom of the intake that would clog up after a few squirts til I removed it- full of gunk of some sort (slime mold?) and doesn't really seem to faze them much. Agree that syrup w/ a little HBH works as well or better-
FWIW
