    I just used the deep 4.9 plastic from Dadant and put it in with a couple of split pins on the side to hold it. Leaves a 2" gap at the bottom that they will fill in anyway.

    I don't know of any source that isn't in the UK.

    I tried that and the bees seem to make mostly drone comb!!

    I just posted the same question in another forum.
    Dadant has always had jumbo depth foundation, and Western has the frames, but always pretends that they don't. Sweinty in Denmark has every conceivable size of everything.

    They need some drones. It's just the way it is. But how much they make seems to depend on the time of year. You could cut another 2" strip and fill it in. With a split bottom board and two more split pins it would stay nicely.
