    How many of your ride?

I ride about anything on two wheels.

You may also note that I restore old Vespa Scooters. Some on my web page linked in my signature... but not nearly all of them I have done.

Currently ride a Sportster for the main commuting bike and have several Piaggio Vespa bikes finished and a several more project bikes lined up to do.

Here is my most recent project finished:

And yes... I have searched and found some of you jokesters about harleys... I know who you are!

Very nice scooter...... I am envious.

My first bike was a 1973 Honda CB450. Shortly after I picked up the book "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainance" and the bond was complete.

I sold the good ol' CB450 to my brother and graduated to a new, off the showroom floor, 1975 Kawasaki Z1 900. Promptly installed 4 in 1 headers and a 1/4 fairing and headed toward British Columbia. Man what a machine!

Put the Z1 into a guard rail at 75 mph in the spring of 76' and put bikes away for awhile.

I now have an older Honda CX-500 in the shop and aquired a set of Vetter saddle bags and fairings for it. I'll ride again.

    Cool

My email is Sharkeyridesatyahoo if that tells ya anything. lol

My wife has juuust about taken my '04 Roadstar 1700 as her own. We are looking for another one. Whichever of us finds the one we want, gets it, and the other keeps the first Roadie.

Right now, she rides a Vulcan 750, and we also have a "beater bike" which is a Honda Magna 700. Great old bike that I have taught many to ride on, and it just keeps on going and going.

From '70 to about '73 I road a '62 Harley. Haven't really ridden again since it was stolen in '73. But by then I had a family and it wasn't high on my priorites to own a bike.

Harley made a scooter called the Topper from 1960 through 1965 I believe. In 66 I bought a 1960. Loved that little scooter. Now riding a 1997 HD Classic. (Bagger) Have traveled to the Black Hills 4 different years on it. Great touring bike, super comfortable.

I was on the back of a Honda S90 waaaay back in the mid sixties when we hit the side of a car that had turned in front of us. ("But I never even saw them, officer...") That pretty much cured me of riding. Now it seems that another one of my buddies shows up every couple of weeks or so with a brand-spanking new Harley.

I happen to have a Puch in the project shed. The one sold by Sears as a Allstate Compac in the 60's. Should be a fun little bike.

That Orange bike is a replica of a early 60's Model Vespa called the SS90. Although this one is done with a 80 ET3 135cc bike. Mighty fast.

At the web site you will see a few more done in the past including my Black T5 Vespa 172cc bike which can hit 85 MPH on 10" wheels. Talk about scary!

I also currently have a Suzuki Savage the kid is riding. Forgot to mention that. I am obviously no brand snob.

My first set of wheels was a simplex--belt drive. That was in the mid fifties, traded it for an "Indian Chief", a monster of a bike, leather saddle bags and all, rode summer and winter, sold it for seventy five dollars around 1960 or so. Around 1964 bought a honda golden eagle, kept a few years and sold in 67. Bought a 175 yamaha enduro in 1971--not quite big enough, sold and bought a new yamaha 250 enduro-)(it is sitting under a tarp half way to my beeyard now) and some time later got a honda trail 90 (sittin under the same tarp), my 2 wheel riding days are over.
"Younz" have a great day, I will.

First bike was a 48 Harley 64, suicide shift and all.

Present bike is a 2002 Honda 750 Shadow Spirit.

Rode it about 3 hours last summer, so far about 20 minutes this year.

    Wanna buy it?

I'm in the market to buy the same bike again. Wish I had never sold it. Like MB, kids came and the bike went.

I used to drool over the R100RS in the 70's. I guess I still do........ The CX-500 will have to do.

    Sharkey,
I have an '84 Honda 700 SHADOW that everyone thinks is a Magna. It's identical as far as I can tell. It rides much better than Papa's 2004 Shadow, handles better, I mean. Has more gears for better gas milage.

However, I can't put accessories on it. NOthing fits the old models. I'm wanting to put a rack on the sissy bar and saddle bags on it. I can't find a rack or saddle bag supports that fit.

Oh, and forget finding a mechanic. It took two years to get the head gaskets changed.

Have you done any modifications to your?

I had a 49CC scooter when I was about 13...got me back and forth to work and you didn't have to have a license for it. We just got back from our MSF course about a week ago. Mom's dying for a Honda Rebel and I want a Buell Blast. The Rebel is pretty dinky, only a 250 and I think she'll get tired of it quick. The Blast is a 500 and pretty light, so that's what I'm lobbying for!
Two roads diverged in a wood and I - I took the one less traveled by...
