My bees have improved dramatically since several years ago I’ve started applying heavy selective pressure for survival traits and traits of economic value. I seem to have a bee that resists the mites pretty well. But although mite levels are not that high, I do tend to see some PMS in a few colonies in late summer and attrition levels a bit higher than I am comfortable with.

Question is:

How to select for PMS resistance in honeybees, besides the obvious (selecting from those that do not have PMS)? Are there any selection criteria or tests established for selecting PMS resistance in honeybees? Thanks!
