a marshmellow works
Chef Isaac..Culinary Arts and Honey are a sweet mix! http://www.sweetascanbeehoneyfarm.com & http://www.adoptahive.info
I just use sugar (powdered or granulated) and honey, mix it together so it makes quite a thick paste and bingo. Always worked for me.
Someome gave me some fondant from a bakery. I add powder sugar to the point that its the thickest "dough" you can still work with your fingers. It need to be really dry and firm. If it is not, the heat in shipping will cause it to become sticky and will kill bees.
I have also used corn syrup and honey. Both work good. Just keep adding powdered sugar past the point you think you should of stopped. Then your close.

honey used in queen cage candy has long been considered to be a no-no. the stated reason for this is the possible spread of afb. if the queens you are planning to grow move outside of your own use (ie, you sell or givie the girls away) I would use some product other than honey in the candy.
tecumseh, your right. The next person to pick up a nuc and has ordered an extra queen, I'll keep that in mind.![]()
