When one transfers the completed cells to the intended hive. What position does the queen cell need to be in? I would think pointing down, which if this is correct then pretty much the whole backside of the cell is depressed into the comb. Is this correct or am I lost in left field?

Yes the tip points down, just like when the bees built the cell.

Not sure what the "backside" of the cell is, but I would gently make an depression in some soft new comb (not old brood comb) to push the cell into lightly. They are fragil so most of the "adhesion" I'd be trying to get is at the top where the excess wax around the top of the cell was cut out from the horizontal comb that it was built on.

You can just put the top part where you cut it out across the top bars so it's lightly suspended there.
