Pollen

Is Pollen used during the winter or is it only used during raising brood? Is it necessary to feed Pollen during the winter months? Dale

From what I have read and experanced the bees only use pollen when raising brood. I put in pollen paties early in the spring trying to time it for the greatest number of bees for the spring flow.
