Recently took over the management of two hives. Neither had been inspected for a long time. One seems to be a little light and the other is very healthy. They both have SHB and some verroa. I took off a super from the really strong hive mainly because I couldn't get the lid off (had a lid with a 3" hole in it with a deep on top with a another lid). When I got the super off I realized it never had any frames in it. The bees had formed their own. It was fully capped and had a very small area where they had brood. I brought the super home and broke it down and put it in bags to freeze. I'm not sure how to extract the honey from the chunk comb form. Any one have any suggestions as to the best way to extract? I'm also asumming that by freezing the comb I'm killing any SHB and wax moth larva. I did put both hives on SBB's and new stands to keep any critters out. Madison.......
