    Question

    Hello Everyone,
Im new to this Bee Forum so let me start with a topic that is concerning all the beekeepers here in Brazil. This year the price of honey has dropped by 50% in Brazil this is supposedly because of the return of chinese honey to the european market,so as you can imagine this has caused all comercial beekeepers to worry a little. Is there anyone out there who can give us some information on the prediction of the price of honey, as (undeclared)honey is selling over here for 80cents(USD) a kilo.

    Hey Rob.

Right!! What is honey trading hand for out there!? Is Chinese honey being brought in and bouhgt for that price? Or is it just that it is the preception or anticipation of Chinese honey entering the market that is dropping the prices?

How much Chinese honey is being used by packers? Actually right now I am not hereing that the packers are buying much of anything.

I have just recieved a quote form a packer in Toronto. They are offering .75$/lbs, for good white honey.

But they are known for stretching the low quote.

So, thats the offer, have there been any takers? I wonder, It is easy to throw quotes around. Hope they dont chase up any takers,...
